My Home

Here are a few pictures of my little apartment! I know some of you have been asking about it so ... here it is! I have hot water now but still no internet. I think it's slowly starting to feel like home.

This is a view of my kitchen and desk area.

This is my hard and lumpy bed!

The chair you see in the corner was left by the last English teacher!

Here is my desk surrounded by all the people I miss!

There is tons of storage space... all tucked away in cupboards!

This is my kitchen complete with two gas burners and a sink! No microwave or oven.

I have a FULL size fridge!! Most teachers only get a tiny one.

My bathroom sink area. I'm lucky to have it separated from the rest of the bathroom.

My shower and toilet area. The shower head is up above.

This is my window!

This is what you see when you look out of my window!!

I LOVE it! How do you manage to make every place you live so warm, inviting and just plain stylish :) It's alot newer/more modern than I imagined based on what you described. Makes me miss you more though... AND makes me excited to visit :) I shall enjoy the floor I am sure ;)

PS - on closer inspection, the walls ARE pretty aweful. Are they even drywall? And... looks like you found one of my Group of Seven calendars :)

  3. the walls are wallpaper so I don't know what they are made of... COVERED in tape marks so thus the pictures!! It's MY group of seven calendar dear!! It's September already so... no need to keep all those over months in the calendar.. they are covering some of the tape marks!!

This looks so cozy....I think I would look forward to coming home every night. Is there room for three more? Love that shower! The mobile home provided for me by my first school board was furnished too....a corner of the couch was held up by a can and mice lived in the kitchen cupboards. I dumped the couch and got a cat. Looking forward to seeing your place some day.

  9. Looks almost extravagent, Karen! Not quite as cozy as your room on the South Side, but nothing to complain about. Keep writing on your blog!

    ah! finally pictures :)
they look better than how you described, but not even close to what they show in Korean dramas. I'm relieved and yet disappointed that all of Korea isn't all clean and modern! how/what do you eat without an oven or microwave? Do you eat out a lot?
What on earth is that under the toilet?? My favorite part about your place is your desk area. You sure have a knack at decorating! Not looking too close to the wall, I like how you arranged the painting pictures on your wall. They should just make the other wall like the other wall and put up wood planks. It'll look so much cleaner. And nice plants/pots! Nice touch!

  12. Nice place. I hope that your getting acclimated well. I'm not sure if I read it correctly... but your shower is in the same area as your toilet? I don't think I ever saw that in Korea before???
